The Blue Light photographs on this page are all images photographed by my friend Cristiana Cappelletti, for me. She has photographed my artwork on numerous occasions helping me along the way to learn an awful lot from her about way of percieving any given space or environment within an art context.
We made a 'Bird Chandelier' together exploiting a various assortment of found and collected debris we sourced between us. We developed various ideas on how to proceed with our assortment sharing thoughts and drawn images of how this Bird Chandelier may possibly turn out. From our shared journey the artwork shown in the next few images appeared. The Chandelier now shares Cristiana's home with her and more than likely changes form every now and then.
The following images are of 'Airspace Gallery Collection Box 2018' commissioned by Airspace Gallery, Broad Street, Hanley.
Made to be portable to allow the gallery members to transport the 'Collection Box' to a varied number of locations, the artistic style was based on the natural environment surrounding and within a radious of a mile from the Gallery. We incorporated hand operated motions to allow all participants to share in the activities within this creation. As like many of my other other artworks their is a combination of recycled debris alongside raw materials, which is a feature I try to retain in my practice as much as is possible with my practice. I am very thankful to Airspace Gallery for giving me the oppotunity to create such an artwork and for the freedom I was allowed in the development of this project.
